The personalities of Paris Hilton and Jared Padalecki, stars House of Wax are like day and night. He answers each question with the assiduity of a politician, while the free-spirited Hilton responds with nonchalance.

Paris, the couture model turned actress, enters the big movie limelight beside Padalecki in the horror flick, House of Wax, a re-imagining of the 1953 horror classic directed by Jaume Serra .House of Wax is about a road trip gone disastrous. Before heading to a football game Wade (Jared Padalecki) and Paige (Paris Hilton) and friends Carly (Elisha Cuthbert), Nick (Chad Michael Murray), and Vincent (Brian Van Holt) decide to camp out for the night. After a series of unfortunate events the group finds themselves in the town of Ambrose, whose dark secrets they must uncover and find their way out or become permanent additions to the House of Wax, Ambrose’s main attraction.

Hilton and Padalecki aren’t exactly newcomers to the world of television and film. Padalecki, a native of San Antonio, Texas has been taking acting lessons since he was 12 years old. He had a reoccuring role as Dean Foster on the WB drama Gilmore Girls and he had a small role in Cheaper by the Dozen. His first major role was in Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s film New York Minute.

Hilton, a popular socialite was quite possibly a celebrity at conception as the heiress of the Hilton Hotel fortune. She found screen popularity not only from the candid camera clicks of the paparazzi and the famous sex tape, but also from her reality show The Simple Life co-staring Nicole Richie. Hilton has also guest appeared on Veronica Mars, The O.C. and George Lopez. Her film career includes roles in Zoolander and Raising Helen.

So how did Padelecki and Hilton get cast in House of Wax? “I was cast because I look good, and we look good together,” Hilton said insightfully. On the other hand, Padalecki points to talent and the ability to get along well with both actors and directors.

Both Hilton and Padalecki agree that sexuality and nudity are major elements in the film. “I think it’s very tasteful, just me in sexy red lingerie. I think in every movie you need some sexiness, people like it,” Hilton said.

“They wanted to make it a generation piece. There is sexuality in music, television, film etc. I think [sexuality is] a trademark of this generation’s music,” Padalecki said.

College students will enjoy House of Wax. “It has all the makings of a generation flick,” Padalecki said proudly.

What do they feel about their crafts? “Movies are interesting because you get the whole script before you agree. In TV you get the script and the next week it’s something completely new and different. There is more time to work on material in a movie. In television you have to figure out your character along the way,” Padalecki said.

“Yeah I think it’s totally different. With me it’s a reality show so I just do whatever I want, there’s no script or anything, but it is easier than a movie,” said Hilton.

Fans can rest assured that both Hilton and Padalecki will continue on the road to stardom.

Hilton loves both television and film, but her recent passion is music. “I love music, I’ve been doing it my whole life,” said Paris in regard to her new single Screwed.

Padalecki said he hopes to have his own show and will continue to work in the film world. Padalecki, who loves horror films, assures us ladies, “I’m not a screamer.”
