Dear Editor:
Bowling Green State University of Ohio has been a place of horrors for Temple athletics in October and November 2011. When Temple traveled to Bowling Green for their MAC East football showdown on Oct. 22, the Owls had been around a 6.5 point odds favorite over the Falcons; however, Bernard Pierce was seen limping after Temple had a 10-6 advantage before Bowling Green scored to be up by three and the Owls were defeated 13-10. Fast forward to Nov. 27, when the Owls had a non-conference men’s basketball showdown at Bowling Green, in which Temple was a 6.5 point odds favorite, center Micheal Eric, perhaps a main ingredient for the Owls’ success, suffered a knee strain and was held from the lineup. Once again, the Owls–this time, the men’s basketball squad–suffered a three point defeat, 67-64. Perhaps the Falcons should be brought to Lincoln Financial Field and the Liacouras Center for some feasts.
Sincerely,
Scott Samuel David Weiss
