Bus to First Friday

Temple will provide a bus to shuttle interested students to and from First Friday, located in Olde City.

Students wishing to experience the art culture of Olde City will have the opportunity to do so this Friday, Sept. 6.

Temple will shuttle a bus to the First Friday Art Walk event. The bus will leave at 6 p.m. from 13th and Diamond Streets, right behind the Tyler School of Art building.

Those who wish to return to campus after the event can reboard the bus at 8:45 p.m. at the Betsy Ross House on Arch Street.

First Friday events allow students to walk around the area and enter all of the different galleries and shops that Olde City has to offer.

On First Fridays, galleries typically hold open receptions and welcome art lovers from all over the city to observe the work of some of Philadelphia’s most prominent artists.

“It’s a great opportunity for all students, not just Tyler students, to go and explore the city,” Julia Knables, a sophomore business major, said. “It’s nice for Temple to give us a free option of getting there, versus having to pay for the subway or a taxi.”

There are no tickets needed to board the bus to the event, but seats are first come first serve so students are encouraged to plan accordingly.

The trip is open to students of all areas of study, not only Tyler students.
