A man and a teenager are in the hospital after being shot at Penrose Playground late Thursday night, cops said.
Deputy Director of Campus Safety Services Charlie Leone said that around 10:20 p.m., on Susquehanna Avenue near 12th Street, cops found a 16-year-old boy with one gunshot wound to his rear and a 27-year-old man with wounds to his chest, leg and arm. Philadelphia Police transported both victims to Temple Hospital, where the teenager was stable and the man was critical, Leone said.
Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department said that cops found 14 bullet casings scattered on the street, sidewalk and in the playground from .45-caliber and 9 mm handguns.
Small said that police do not have a motive for the shooting and one shooter was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt fleeing south on 12th Street from Susquehanna.
