A 42-year-old oil-heater repairman was fatally shot after attempting to make a call at the home of two Temple students Wednesday.
Carl Tomberlain, who worked for Petro Oil in Southampton, Bucks County, was shot in the head at 5:40 p.m. on the 1800 block of West Norris Street after responding to a call from Temple students who lived on Woodstock Street. The students were not at home when Tomberlain arrived.
Tomberlain was pronounced dead at 7:53 p.m. at Temple Hospital, police said.
Tomberlain is survived by his wife, Rose, and two daughters.
