The Temple News takes a look at some of the highlights with some of the other sports teams this week.

Golf

Over the weekend, the team travelled to Princeton, NJ for the Princeton Invitational. The team finished in fifth place behind the performance of senior Andrew Mason, who shot 75-76-68 over the two-day tournament. Mason has been the top golfer for the Owls this season with a 73.3 average. Up next, the team will participate in the Rhody Invitational in Portsmouth, RI. It will be the team’s final regular season tournament before travelling to Howie in the Hills, FLA for the Atlantic Ten Conference Championships.

Track and Field

On Friday, the men’s and women’s track teams were in Austin, Texas for the three-day Texas Relays. Senior Bob Keogh of the men’s team broke the school record, which is also his own personal record, in the hammer throw, going 208-04 in the event and five feet further than the record. The mark ranks No. 14 in the nation and met IC4A qualifying marks as of April 3.

On the women’s side, the 4x800m squad consisting of seniors Shadaya Bennett and Tashima Stephens and sophomores Victoria Gocht and Tonney Smith finished in 6th place with a time of 8 minutes, 57 seconds, to finish with ECAC qualifying marks.

Up next, both teams travel to Bethlehem, PA for the Greyhound Invitational.

Women’s Gymnastics

Three members from the team traveled to Colorado Springs for the USA Gymnastics Championship. Junior Kaity Watson took 3rd place on the vault with a score of 9.775, junior Alexandra Uscatu placed 12th in the vault with 9.312 and junior Corrine Williams took 8th place on the uneven bars with a score of 9.550.
