I was at Whiskey Dixs Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004 when I heard a band out of Pine Grove, PA called Rusted Shut (www.rustedshut.com) sing. The lead singer, a Jack Zerbe is enrolled at Temple University. I want to first acknowledge that this singer is so radical that he offered Temple University as his launching pad for such confusion. Musically, he’s awesome. But somehow I feel that Temple is so musically inept that this person is wasting his talent at your school and his future, giving Temple the publicity that only a “Julliard” should deserve.
I ask that your student body give into consideration the time it takes to entertain others outside of the institution. And maybe more students can participate in the musical experience and not walk around with “I am Nothing” sweatshirts on their backs.
Please, bring music back into our lives again.
