A woman was shot Friday evening near Temple’s Beasley School of Law after an incident of road rage, CBS reported.
The incident occurred on Broad Street near Montgomery Avenue around 5:45 p.m. The Department of Public Safety issued a TUalert at 5:46 p.m. for the Temple community to avoid the area.
The shooting did not involve anyone from Temple, wrote Vice President for Public Safety Jennifer Griffin in a statement to the Temple community. The incident also struck a visiting sports team’s bus. No one was on the bus and no injuries were reported, Griffin wrote.
“We are thankful for the immediate action of Temple University and Philadelphia police officers who quickly responded to the incident,” Griffin wrote.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman and passenger in one of the cars, was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment after being grazed by a bullet, Griffin wrote.
Police have two suspects in custody and recovered two firearms at the scene, Griffin wrote in the statement. No other injuries were reported.
A TUalert was sent at 9:49 p.m. alerting students that the area was all clear.
