Dear Editor:
I am a part of a group of drexel students who are organizing competetive open
mic contests at the World Cafe Live in University City. We are all a part of the
Music Industry program at Drexel, and organizing these events is part of an
independent study program we are participating in. The open mic contest is
great opportunity for college student musicians trying to start up a career in
music. Not only will it offer them an opportunity to play in a renowned venue,
the winner of each night will come back at the end of the series to compete for
3 free days in Drexel University’s record label’s Mad Dragon studios. We are
inviting any and all college students (w/ id) to come out and compete. We want
as many people from as many different colleges to come out to make it as
diverse and competitive as possible. I hope you choose to share this event with
your student population and that many Temple students compete to win the 3
free days in our studios. The remainding dates for the fall are as follows:
Wednesday October 26th: 7pm-8:30pm
Wednesday November 9th: 8pm-9:30pm
Wednesday November 16th: 7pm-8:30pm
Wednesday November 30th: 8pm-9:30
