Police searching for two suspects of MetroPCS robbery

Two unknown men, one of them armed, robbed the MetroPCS store on Cecil B. Moore Ave at N 23rd Street on Sept. 23.

Two men robbed a MetroPCS store on Cecil B. Moore Ave at N 23rd Street on Sept. 23, taking approximately $4,300 in cash, Philadelphia Police said Wednesday.

At 3:15 p.m., the two unknown men entered the back office of the store and one showed a handgun to an employee and demanded money, police said. The suspects took $4,000 from the store, and an additional $300 from an employee. The suspects then fled.

Police obtained security footage of the suspects from inside the store and informed the public not to approach the men if seen, and to call 911 immediately.

The Philadelphia Police Central Detective Division is asking the public to help identify and locate the suspects.

Police described the man armed with a handgun as a 20-year-old male in a gray and maroon sweatshirt and gray sneakers. The second suspect is also described as a 20-year-old male in a black mask, gray sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and gray sneakers.
