With the school year coming to a close, many clubs are winding down for the summer. But don’t be discouraged! Many clubs on campus are already gearing up for a fantastic fall.

The Green Bandits: This club isn’t trying to rob you of anything. Instead, members aid you in helping the environment, starting with recycling. Right now, they are trying to build a base of committed members so the club can continue to thrive in years to come. For more information, e-mail Michele Masucci at masucci@temple.edu.

Knight Owls Chess Club: Ever consider joining a chess team? Try playing with the Knight Owls, Temple’s new chess club. Right now, the club is trying to set up regular meetings, friendly competition and maybe even a chess team. Socialization is a key factor in this club. For more information, e-mail Justin Slater at tu_knight_owls@yahoo.com.

Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance: This group is composed of students working to promote feminist awareness and education for all people through activism and education. To become an active member, e-mail templeFMLA@yahoogroups.com.

The Temple Chemistry Society: The members of this club are out to promote science and technology on campus. The club goal is to make internship and job opportunities available to students while creating a social atmosphere. Drop by the club office in Beury Hall, room 132, or call 215-204-9351 for more information.

Temple University Anime Club: The Anime Club is out to promote two things: anime, focusing on Japanese animation, and Japanese culture as a whole. Thursday nights, this group of students can be found watching anime, in Japanese (with subtitles, of course). The club also sponsors monthly movie nights. To join in, e-mail Paul Gaspari at president@templeanime.org.

When school starts again in the fall, don’t forget to check out some of the new clubs on campus.
