It is pretty obvious most people are self-absorbed, and I am afraid Twitter has become an outlet for the arrogant. I really don’t like to preach because I want to sock it to people who tell me to do things their way. But since I am the Twitter expert, I have earned the right to say a lot of people are making a mockery of my Internet companion.
If you are going to tweet, make it funny or at least some kind of cool link. Why are people now tweeting about where they are via Foursquare? Do these tweeters really think someone out there in the twitosphere cares you are at the Edge? The only reason someone would care about that would be if he or she wanted someone to laugh at. I want to punch Foursquare in the face and kick it while it’s down. Even if you are posting about being somewhere cool – say, Checkers – I cannot wrap my head around why anyone would want to know this information. This is stalking promotion.
@bravoteamleader: I’m at 1940 – temple university (1940 liacouras walk, Norris street, Philadelphia).
I wonder what kind of @replies people get when they tweet that they are at a residence hall. “@bravoteamleader I’m sorry.” That’s the only realistic thing I can think of.
@bburkegreen: I’m at Temple University Barton Hall (1900 N. 13th Street, Philadelphia).
I’m starting to feel bad for making fun of Barton Hall so much. I wonder whether the person it is named for knows what a disgrace the building has become. At least @bburkegreen is proud to be there, for some reason, since he is eager to announce it to the world.
@grahamplata: I’m at Johnson & Hardwick, Temple University (2029 North Broad, Philadelphia).
@grahamplata, for the amount of times you check in at Johnson & Hardwick, I am going to assume you live there. If not, I suggest that you back off fourth meal before you develop high cholesterol in your twenties. I’ll assume you visit for the chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks because it has to suck living in either Johnson or Hardwick, so why would you want to broadcast that? Through my searching, @grahamplata, you appear to be the only one who publicly tweeted about being at Johnson & Hardwick, thus proving that everyone else in the twitosphere understands how uncool this is, or their accounts are private because they are afraid of me.
@dberger: I’m at Maxi’s Pizza and Subs (1926 Liacouras Walk, Philadelphia).
Did you know there is a SEPTA subway stop on Main Campus? I’m pretty certain if you got off at any southbound stop on the Broad Street Line, you would find a bar in a two-block radius that doesn’t smell like a mixture of body odor and piss. I’ve only been there once to observe this, and I wasn’t paying. Don’t judge me.
@SamanthaKrotzer: I’m at Twitter Hell (Temple University, Philadelphia).
Samantha Krotzer can be reached at samantha.krotzer@temple.edu.
I just want you to know how “uncool” you are. You honestly go onto twitter and read what people you don’t know write, then you try to bash on it. I’m gonna assume your still in college, which is sad that you have nothing better to do with your time then write all of this bullshit. Just some food for thought.
Haha, this was funny! I’m glad you twitter stalk and then write about it! I also like that you replied to them
Matt A: YOU BE TRIPPIN. Chances are this Samantha chick is a journalism major, which means “all this bullshit” is contributing towards her clips which will enable her to land a career in the industry. That said, Samantha seems to be spending her time pretty wisely.
ALSO, anyone who makes their twitter account public domain should realize that their tweets are subject to analysis and/or criticism. That’s the problem with kids these days; they have an intended audience when they update their statuses, without taking into account all those other unwanted onlookers. Chew on that.
