The Temple University School of Medicine received a grant to help prevent damage after a heart attack.
Philly Drum Project has four facets to its mission – to provide drummers with gear, lessons, gigs and beats. All four of these aspects are fulfilled through the group’s monthly meetings called “Beats, Brews and Banter,” which are in the back room of the “R” Bar at 23rd and Walnut streets. While Philly Drum Project has approximately 150 members, Crump said the monthly meetings are intimate, averaging around 25 attendees.

The 122 members of Alpha Epsilon Phi, or AEPhi, are about three weeks into their “26 Acts of Kindness” initiative in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. Members randomly do something nice for a stranger and give them a note reading something along the line of: “The sisters of Alpha Epsilon Phi, Phi Theta Chapter are committing 26 acts of kindness in honor of the 26 lives lost in the Sandy Hook tragedy.
