Lodge 215 is a clothing store that recently opened in Northern Liberties and, so far, there’s been nothing but positive feedback. The store’s grand opening included live music, an art show and a chance to look at the winter collection. Not to mention everyone’s favorite – free drinks. This Friday, the shop will have another art show, and there’s no doubt it will be just as good as the grand opening.

Artists Joey Gothelf and Sean Gallagher will be displaying their work with complimentary Pabst Blue Ribbon on hand. Gallagher is a new addition to the Fresh Melt Water team, a design, print and sales company based in Northern Liberties. During the show, Fresh Melt Water will be releasing a new collaboration T-shirt in a limited quantity of 24 pieces. Along with the PBR, music by Les Professionels, an electronic music collaboration based in Philly, will be keeping the crowd energized.

If you’ve never seen clips of “The Gong Show” then you’re missing out. It aired during the late ‘70s and early ‘80s and is basically “America’s Got Talent” except it used a gong instead of a buzzer. The Trocadero Theatre will be presenting its own karaoke “gong” show this Saturday hosted by Skeletor. Contestants will have more than 6,000 songs to choose from with the venues new digital karaoke system. If you’re having a Liza Minnelli-moment, you’ll definitely be able to find a song for your mood.

But don’t be surprised if your shaky vocals make Skeletor gong you before you finish. Also, during the event guests will be able to use the Trocadero’s new Xbox 360 to play “Marvel VS. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds” with arcade sticks on their full-size movie screen. Participants can play to win free drinks. Throughout the night there will also be drink specials, which is great because admission is free. So have a drink, sing a song and try not to get gonged by Skeletor.

In Philadelphia, PBR has come almost completely synonymous with hipster culture. Twenty-somethings who listen to bands you’ve never heard of and for reasons unknown always manage to look dirty, have made the drink their own. So, to look at the drink in a different light usually never happens. But, at the Third Annual PBR Crafting Challenge, vendors and artists will be displaying the many uses of PBR and will be giving the beer a new reputation. Artists will be showing and selling their PBR-inspired baked goods, apparel, housewares and decorations.

Five bands will be performing throughout the day including TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb, An American Chinese, Dangerous Ponies, Levee Drivers and Cheers Elephant. There will also be games and prizes. And, for those of you who just want to enjoy a beer, there will also be a lot of PBR-sponsored refreshments. Whatever the weather, I’m sure there’s never a reason to miss a chance to celebrate PBR, so run over to Fishtown for an hour or two and check out the many uses of PBR.

Men can quite often show women what a true diva really is. But at the Ms. Lady V & Mr. Lady V Drag Pageant, it won’t just be men teaching women a thing or two, but women showing men what it means to be a gentleman.
