After a lengthy battle with cancer, Michel’Le Daughtry passed away.

Michel’Le Daughtry, a junior psychology major and a former student manager for the football team, passed away while surrounded by her family on March 22 after battling acute myeloid leukemia since July 2008, according to a statement from Temple athletics.

Daughtry also went by “Misha” and had been with the team since her freshman year during the 2009 season. The team honored her by wearing pink decals with her initials on the sides of their helmets.

Since April 2008, the team has been hosting bone marrow donor drives each year. Last April’s drive was poignant for the team, as it tried to find a donor for Daughtry. On Sunday, the team held an open house for her at the Edburg-Olson practice facility.

She is survived by her mother, Yonne Daughtry, her aunt and uncle Daraina and Al-Quaddir Vines and her three younger sisters Eva, Kayla, and Jahida Daughtry.
