The men’s tennis team dropped six of its seven matches but did manage to win two of three in doubles. The women were shut out, but Australian freshman May Johnson made her U.S. debut.

Season starts with Top 5 finishes

The women’s gymnastics team opened the 2010 season with Top 5 finishes in three meets against the likes of Maryland, North Carolina, George Washington and Ursinus. The Owls face Rutgers next.

Guard/forward Lindsay Kimmel transferred from Temple to Villanova after her sophomore season last year. Kimmel, who averaged 5.3 points, will sit out this season due to NCAA rules but will bring her 3-point shooting to the Main Line in the fall.
