PFA is a group of musicians whose mission is to provide you with fun and entertainment with R&B, soul, funk and party music from the last 40 years. Enjoy and dance the night away – after all, it’s free.
The Misher Festival of Fine Arts and Humanities is held annually at University of the Sciences. This year, it is celebrating American music. Now through April 29, the university will be holding events featuring all genres of music, ranging from folk to funk. This festival also holds other events such as the Philadelphia Jug Band and Shape-note Singing happening on March 24. Check out the festival’s website for other activities, locations and times.
Japanese Culture Week

A quick subway ride into Center City is all you need to experience Japanese culture. In light of the recent disaster, why not take some time to learn about what makes the country so different? Each day there’s something different. On Monday, learn about origami – the traditional art of paper folding. Try your hand at calligraphy on Tuesday. Wednesday, you can try on a kimono while learning about traditional Japanese fashion. On Thursday, arrange flowers beautifully while being taught the Japanese technique, Ikebana. End the week with a live martial arts demonstration. This free event is perfect for a small break from your day and an exciting way to learn a bit more about world culture.
Spring Garden Indoor Antique & Vintage Flea Market

Enjoy a day at the indoor flea market on 9th and Spring Garden streets to embark on a good bargain hunt. More than 75 vendors will be there supplying antiques and collectables, vintage furniture and clothing, jewelry and accessories, as well as some cool retro home furnishings. Get a vintage sundress for spring, a new end table for your apartment or a gift for your antique-loving dad’s birthday. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s a fun time searching with your friends.
Biggest Dodgeball Game EVER in Philly!

Proceeds from this event, which promises to be the biggest dodgeball game to ever happen in Philadelphia, will go toward Life Unchained. The goal is for 800-1,000 players, to create 400 on 400 or 500 on 500 player games. At 11 a.m., Flip Fitness will be giving a free fitness class for players arriving early. There will be a post-game tailgate from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., which will offer beer, food and drink specials and entertainment. At 7 p.m., participants and spectators will receive vouchers for the Philadelphia Wings lacrosse game. Players will also receive a game T-shirt, charity wristband and $10 game card from Dave & Busters.
