The Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is currently investigating two reported incidents of sexual assault that happened on Main Campus on Nov. 11 and Nov. 20. According to multiple local media outlets, the suspects in both incidents are freshman football players, which Special Victims would not confirm or deny.

Reports of the Nov. 20 incident were the first to emerge, but later, news of the Nov. 11 incident also surfaced. According to Special Victims, the 21-year-old female complainant in the second case was late in coming forward about the incident, which wasn’t reported until Nov. 18.

Ray Betzner of University Communications confirmed that there was an incident on campus, but would not comment otherwise. Athletics spokesman Larry Dougherty declined comment, deferring all questions to Betzner.
