Terrence Knighton was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft Sunday by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The defensive tackle impressed scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.
Gene Smith, the general manager of the Jaguars, told the Orlando Sentinel that Knighton could make an immediate impact.
“We thought there was a chance we’d lose him late [Saturday] night or early [Sunday],” Smith said. “We thought that he probably was the one guy that has the ability to be a potential starter. The arrow is up on his development.”
