Though no suspects have been named in the armed robbery cases that warranted two TU Alerts last semester, the cases aren’t yet dormant.
We’ve identified several individuals in a few of the incidents,” Campus Safety Services Director Carl Bittenbender said. “We anticipate investigations going forward.”
Bittenbender could not offer specifics as to which cases could have suspects. Calls to the Philadelphia Police Department concurred with Bittenbender’s statements, as there have been no updates to any of the following cases involving students.
In addition to the Dec. 10 armed robbery on the 1700 block of North Gratz Street and the three afternoon armed robberies that occurred Dec. 13, The Temple News reported a Nov. 21 incident that left junior broadcast, telecommunications and mass media major Conor Broderick with a gun to his face. Bittenbender told The Temple News in December the investigation was ongoing.
On Dec. 19, an armed robbery involving students in off-campus housing occurred on the 2200 block of North Camac Street. No students were harmed.
